Wow! I haven't done one of these Journal entries in a while. How is the Internet doing. Did it crash while I was gone? No? Good.
The end of 2013 is coming and what a year it's been. It's been a very dizzying whirlwind and despite its ups and downs, I have to say that it's been the most successful year I've ever had. Between having Sparky Konga shown at the Maximum Exposure 2013 gallery and all the events and community groups I've been a part of and everything else I've done this year, I've accomplished more than I ever dreamed a year ago and helped a lot of people. I hope that I can do more good for people this year and we can all surpass whatever expectations we have for ourselves in the upcoming year of 2014!
I've been rather silent on my DeviantArt and my artwork in general for the past several months, though not out of laziness I assure you. Among other things, I've been exceptionally busy trying to do my Ryerson New Media thesis project and have been researching and working on it since the summer. My thesis is called Who Are You? and it's a video game that acts as an interactive personality test. Seeing as I was never taught how to make games and have had to start from scratch I've had a lot of sleepless, frustrating nights to work on it, as well as a great amount of help from friends, professors, and colleagues, and now I'm filling out a Masters application which has made me hard pressed to put any effort into other pieces of artwork I'd like to make. I'm currently still working on it with the aim of getting it into the 4th year New Media gallery in 2014, so if you would like to keep up with it, feel free to follow the new Who Are You? Facebook Page I made for the project. Also, while Spark Comics is still on hiatus at the moment, there is a Spark Comics Facebook Page that I post funny things and updates in regularly so that's a good way to keep up with me. I also launched a new portfolio site at GrindSpark.com. It's still a work in progress and a bit disorganized and barren, but I'll be updating it very soon.
I hope all of you had some very Happy Holidays and have a Sparktacularly Happy New Year.

100 Comics, Patreon, and More! (Update)
Hi there everyone,
This week, I finally achieved my goal of making 100 Spark Comics! Spark Comic's 100th page is the biggest comic yet and also happened to be released exactly one year after I finished my Masters and An/Other. I wanted to make it special and deliver a special message. I hope you enjoy it. I'll be taking a bit of a break from comics to work on other projects and to create a buffer, but rest assured, Spark Comics will be back.

Additionally, I also launched my Patreon! For those unfamiliar, Patreon is a service that allows you to voluntarily donate to your favorite artists for the work they do.
My Insane Week + TCAF!
Heyo,
I hope everyone reading this is doing well! As you may have been able to tell, I've been back at making comics and artwork over the past few months and I hope everyone has been enjoying that. It's good to be back making things.
I've been meaning to post here for the past several days, but this past week has been extremely insane for me, in a good way. Let me start from the beginning. As seen in my gallery, I made a video game and research paper for my Master's Thesis last summer on Games for Social Change. My game, An/Other, and research have been available online and have drifted into obscurity ever since... Until late March. I appli
'Best Little Known Tips' Collection
Hi there everyone,
As a multimedia artist, I work in a variety of different capacities and programs and am always looking to learn more and streamline my workflow. I began making a few threads in on Reddit asking for “little known tips” that perhaps I didn’t know. Many people responded and shared their own tips, some I knew and some I didn’t. It then occurred to me that this would be a great kind of resource for anyone who wanted to learn more about these topics, so I’ve been gradually creating more of them with the goal of sharing them for people to learn from and enjot. I asked for little known tips in fo

...When I met you, I was but the learner, now I am the master.
Last week, on August 31st, just before 3pm, I finally handed in my major research thesis project and paper to the office at Ryerson University to complete my Masters degree in the Media Production program and end my experience as a University student.
... I was then dead to the world for until the next day since I had not slept at all for over 24 hours.
The thesis project that I've been working on all this time is available to the public for all to play. Yes, I said play. My major research topic was Video Games for Social Change, and thus I made my own video gam

An interactive personality test? That sounds awesome!
